Intentional Affordable Housing Development Projects
Properties
As mission-driven real estate developers we are pleased to contribute to the affordable housing landscape in Nashville. Our portfolio of housing types are vast and showcase our ability to meet the expansive needs of the community. Here are some of our properties.

William Franklin Buchanan Building
Our agency collaborated with the North Nashville Community Development Corporation, MDHA and the Mayor's Office in 2005 to build the William Franklin Buchanan Building, a beautiful 18,000 square feet mixed-use project. The structure contains 6,000+ square feet of commercial office space on the ground floor and 12 one- and two-bedroom loft-inspired apartments on the second and third floors.

The Cottages at Drakes Creek
In August 2024, WFBCDC purchased a 60-unit multi-family community to serve as Nashville's first limited equity housing cooperative. The property, on the edge of Goodlettsville, is an opportunity to offer permanently affordable housing to existing and new residents. The community will be fully converted to a cooperative by the end of 2025. This project is the first from the Nashville Equitable Housing Cooperative.

House of Jewels
In partnership with Queen Esther Ministries, the House of Jewels is the first of several single room houses for young women who have aged out of foster care. In the transformational living community they will share beautiful amenities while building a trusted community.

WE ARE
Transforming Lives and Community
WFBCDC supports community needs which include Affordable Housing Development & Management services, Workforce Development and Business Investment services, as well as Homeownership Training and Personal Finance Education services.
We also strongly believe in supporting other community-based organizations by sharing our financial and human capital, providing support and consultation services for a more impactful effort. Historically, our collaborative partnerships supported access to childcare, senior housing, after-school programming, health & wellness initiatives as well as comprehensive services for a vulnerable youth population.

WE'RE ON A MISSION
To connect vulnerable individuals to opportunities and services so they can overcome adversity, experience an improved quality of life and participate in the revitalization of their community.
